Software as a Service (SaaS)

The SaaS Procurement Vehicle is a key Government of Canada (GC) initiative, established by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), to create a streamlined method for procuring Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.

This vehicle is a cornerstone of the GC’s “Cloud First” direction and is designed to achieve several critical objectives:

  • Simplify Procurement: It simplifies the process for government departments to acquire SaaS Solutions.
  • Increase Access and Competition: It is intended to increase competition and provide the GC with broad access to the latest commercial SaaS Solutions on the market.
  • Establish a Catalogue: The process qualifies suppliers for a GC SaaS Catalogue, which facilitates simplified and faster solicitation and contracting processes for individual client requirements.

The resulting Supply Arrangements can be used by any Government Department, Departmental Corporation or Agency, or other Crown entity. The services covered include the delivery of various SaaS Solutions, along with associated maintenance, support, training, and professional services.
